If you want to help, or just be, with shelter dogs but can't commit to fostering,  I found this re St. Huberts.  You can basically take a shelter dog on a short date.  As little as an hour.  I guess they don't have enough staff to keep the dogs entertained/exercised.  If I didn't already have a dog, I'd do it.

Thanks, bub! We recently lost ours and this might be a great way to fill those cuddle gaps when necessary until we get a new four-legged crazy to join our fam!

It seems great.  Maybe they let you date one dog on a regular basis and who knows, it could become the forever dog.
