Next door - Irvington

I hope this is pursued.  For years I've thought that Irvington doesn't need to exist.  It should be divided up among all of the bordering towns.  I think that's Newark, Hillside, Union, and Maplewood.  Am I wrong?

it’s more than twice the size of Maplewood. Why do you feel this way?

What you propose is not a solution.  Strong fiscal monitoring by the State or other responsible body would be a much more direct solution.

Given DanDietrich’s long history of posts, I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t.

I do feel that way.  We have too many governments and school districts in NJ.  That town seems to have endless administrative problems.  Please note, I suggest dividing it among the four adjacent towns.  It doesn't matter that it's twice the size of Maplewood.  Maybe Maplewood only takes 15% or something, depending on where the natural breaks would be.  I know it will never happen, though, because everyone thinks about consolidation only in terms of similar or wealthier towns.
