Any advice about how to block en masse these Political messages on an Android

I am very involved politically so it was fine to get these in the year running up to the 2024 election and I suppose I'll tolerate them again as the midterms come closer. But this is ridiculous. In one day - yesterday - I received over 15 separate messages ranging from requests to help the DNC, protect Social Security, Wendy please read this to save Democracy.  So I go ahead and block the respective numbers and delete the conversation but like Hydra new heads/texts emerge again.  I don't think typing Stop2End makes it any better.

I hear that on an iPhone one can folder any texts that come in w/o a name attached and then I suppose one can click and delete them all every few days. But no iPhone here.

I may call TMobile who generally can give me great advice but the folks here are as good or better. Thanks in advance.

Oh and please no need to comment on these requests.  There is a lot to do to fight these horrors (Trump and Musk and the complacent Senate) but I just want to be spared these texts for now and am still involved/helping. Thanks!

If you find a solution please post it. I feel your pain.

I most certainly will Dan! Hoping someone comes through here like a scam buster in shining armor. ;-)

I am thinking there must be a way to block any texts that come in that do not have a name associated with it. That might be the answer.

Do you have spam protection enabled in Messages?

I did that, then started marking these sort of messages as spam, and after a while they all just automatically go to the spam folder. (it might be phone-dependent, I have a Pixel, also on Tmob.)

Somehow I was lucky enough to avoid giving my cell number to any political/advocacy groups along the way and they haven't found me that way. I have the same problem with emails but it is a bit easier to unsubscribe or filter those. Good luck figuring it out!

This might help.  I have a Samsung Galaxy 20 and keep the "Do Not Disturb" mode on permanently.  I set it so only people in my contacts list come through.   Settings / Notification / Do Not Disturb and Calls and Messages (Some Allowed).

RCH

I did the Block Sender option when deleting, they've finally slowed to a trickle - I was getting about ten a day... for goodness sake - wait until the midterms guys..

The block sender that I keep doing has not seemed to diminish them for me. Glad it works for you.

As to RCH's suggestion, it is worth a try. Does this mean they will be blocked or I just won't see/hear the notification? thanks all and keep them coming!
