True - but US passports are fine as well.  So make sure you have one or the other.

Apparently, DMV appointments for Real-ID are tough to get even though NJDMV has added thousands of appointment slots throughout the state.  I have a valid passport so I'm good to go. (I (Just need a place to go!)

Seems you can’t get one until 3 months before your license expires, then there are many available.

You can indeed can get one but if you get it too soon you will pay some more money. I did that It was no issue at all

For a price, you can also get and use a passport card, which is the size of a driver’s license.
