PSE&G for the Win

The power in our neighborhood went out about 9 last night. PSE&G’s outage map said to expect the blackout, affecting about 500 residents, to last until 11.

A crew arrived outside our house to check the wires on a couple of utility poles. One of the workers knocked on our door and asked if we had heard a boom. We hadn’t. The guy said that the Fire Department had directed them to our location to investigate a blown transformer, but that he couldn’t find anything wrong. With an amiable thanks, he said they’d keep investigating, and the crew eventually moved on.

My wife’s thought: This is going to take longer than a couple of hours.

At 10:55, the power came back on.
