This is great reading. And listening. I’ve been scrolling through, reading the brief blurbs and listening to a bunch of the albums on Spotify.
You could argue with the relative placement of some of them on the list but I decided to take the list at face value and not worry about that.

I remember watching this movie and just being blown away by the music…that mayfield sound was just dope…

once I retire I can spend all day reading and listening. I have a stack of books awaiting that day.

Wow, I'm only on the first three and I'm over the moon. I forgot all about The Indestructible Beat of Soweto!
T, did you ever hear that album?

oh, yes, I went through a period where I was listening to and seeing African bands. Johnny Clegg, Fela Kuti, Antibalas, Youssou N'Dour, and more. Saw Fela at Felt Forum.
So far, 250 in and I don't see enough Soul. I actually saw a Stevie can't remember if it was Innervisions or Music of My Mind, at 350. I can't imagine anything of Stevie down that low.
From my perspective there had better be a lot more soul in the top 250 or I'm calling a do over.

Not filthy, but it feels so good.

Ooooh, I'm gonna make a playlist of these tracks. Fun!
Gonna use the back end of the Rolling Stone list, which includes a fair amount of stuff not well known to me, as a source for streaming material. I'm just too familiar with the stuff in the front end to really want to listen to it now.

Jaytee couldn’t resist a double entendre that had more to do with marksierra’s list.
