Can someone please explain to me why Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are the lead United States negotiators involved in the talks with Iran in Switzerland?   Yeah, I know they've been involved before but why?  Why not our Secretary of State or one of our cadre of foreign service professionals?   I realize that Trump has named Witkoff a "special envoy" but, to my understanding, Kushner has no formal capacity other than being Trump's son-in-law and associate grifter (see his dealings with Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman).   

I had a whole Algaes For Flowernon thing in my head, but it didn't work. Instead I will leave you with this.

A long time pet peeve of mine has been people using their lawn sprinkler to water their lawn during a drought when most of us are looking to conserve what water we have,  A higher level of peeveness is reserved for those who water the sidewalk and/or the roadway with their sprinkler, gifting passersby with a complementary shower.  Today I encountered a level of peeveness I haven't seen before, an unattended lawn sprinkler placed in the middle of the sidewalk, creating both a trip hazard and a water hazard in the heat of the day during a severe drought condition.  I hope I never encounter this again.

I am of the opinion that we shouldn't water the grass. It goes dormant when it’s dry and recovers when it rains. That’s what grass does. If some dies off in particularly harsh summer sun, I just throw some seed down.  I don’t need to see a perfect greensward every day of the year. 

Green grass is a terrible reason to use hundreds of gallons of fresh water every summer. 

I guess they couldn't get Vanilla Ice.
